If you’re travelling to these locations from Dominica, then full disclosure it’s going to be a very complicated trip filled with several potential stops and layovers. However, with the wide range of options for getting there you could take full advantage of the journey and use it to enjoy other islands on route to your final destination. This might include hopping over to Aruba, Curaçao or even the Dominican Republic as a means of getting there.
Due to the vast number of options no specific route has been outlined but if you’re up for it, this could be a journey that’s sure to deliver.
It is important to note that if your flight path does include a layover or stop in the US and you don’t have a student visa, green card or other such documentation then be forewarned that you will need to apply for the ESTA (Electronic System for Travel Authorization).
According to ESTA Online Center, “ESTA is an electronic authorization system that makes it possible for travelers to enter the U.S. without visas for short-term travel to the U.S. … You do not need to complete the ESTA authorization procedures if traveling to the U.S. on a valid visa issued by a U.S. embassy.”
They further explain that “Travelers must apply for and receive ESTA even when transiting in the U.S. to a third country without a visa.”
Once you complete the application you will have a response within 72 hours but there is a cost of $14 USD attached. On the bright side the authorization is valid for two years so long as that time doesn’t exceed the expiration date on the passport you will be using.
But enough of all the logistics, let’s get into the good stuff!
Argentina
Snow and ice might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you think of South America but think again. If you’re trying to get more than a tropical escape then be sure to check out the Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park which spans more that 90 square miles.

Brazil
You must have heard of Rio de Janeiro! Popular destination for block buster movies like Fast Five from the Fast and the Furious franchise? Or maybe you know it best for the Christ the Redeemer statue, one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World? Either way Brazil has a lot to see and do, from shanty towns in the distance to bright and brilliantly vibrant Brazilian carnival and even, you guessed it, the Amazon Rainforest.
